For all the HA ppl

This Sunday at Church, to my surprised, someone came up to me and asked me if I was an Intern at HA... This is probably the FIRST time someone came up to me and identified me as an Intern because of the RING.  =)   After talking for a few minutes, we realized that we were apparently in the same year so we should know a lot of people in common. how cool~

A short update...

I have been back from Paris to Toronto since September 1.  I am still at York University and enjoying what I hope to be my final year at York. Life is going well and I am very thankful for all that I have and all that God has done in my life!  I don't have any travel plans for those of you who are wondering, but I am opened to anything after graduation :)

For those of you who still bothers to read xanga... I am still in Paris.  It has been two months and it has been great.  Perhaps one of the most ironic thing being in France this time, is that I have been connected with the Chinese community again.  It felt just like Unionville in Toronto.  I went to a few Chinese churches in Paris, and to my surprise, I felt that it was very familiar as it reminded me of my childhood, where I grew up in a bilingual Chinese church in Toronto.  I can hardly believe that I came all the way to France and in the end I was reconnected with the Chinese culture... though this time, there is a "french" flavour.  For some reason seeing young Chinese people like me speaking perfect French really surprised me.  Understanding the way they act and the way they think was even more interesting, as I saw the integrating of both the Chinese and French culture at work.  It made me rethink about how culture had influenced who I am.

PASSION PARIS!

Last Tuesday, PASSION came to Paris!  It was at Maison de la Mutualite, a pretty nice theatre in the centre of Paris, with Louie Giglio, David Crowder Band, Chris Tomlin, Matt Redman.  It was AMAZING.  Incredible to see HIS name being lifted high in this particular city, hundreds of young people worshipping God.  I was also very blessed to have gone to the event with a group of students in Paris, from a particular Church, as I had planned to go alone.

Last weekend, I had a FABULOUS time in Valence, Drome, visiting a friend that I had divinely met in Toronto.  Where she lived was such a contrast from Paris, such beautiful scenery surrounded by mountains.  We had a very eventful weekend together, and I don't think I had met so many people from so many different nationalities in France in just three days.  It was quite a cultural excursion.  The family I stayed with was a couple where one was French and the other was Canadian.  Their children were bilingual.  The next day I stayed with a family who was Indonesian and French.  On my Birthday, I was invited for lunch with some Church people who I have never met before.  There were eight in total, from twenty to eighty-three years old, some were French, one was from Africa, the other from Scottland, and all of them have their own stories about being in ministry.  Even though I don't really know them, it was a great blessing to have people from different nations and generations to celebrate my Birthday.  I am blessed!

Second week in Paris

I just feel so blessed to be here.  I have only began to realize that I am actually here, in Paris, and will be for the next three months!  I had always wanted to live in Paris, but instead of going to Paris last year on exchange, I had to be in Bordeaux.  At that time I couldn't understand why I had to be in Bordeaux, but now I can see that everything is a real blessing, according to His Timing.

This past weekend I went to Bordeaux and visited all my friends.  It was so.... amazing, fantastic, incredible... not sure what the word is.  Just seeing everyone who I had spent a year with, again, just blesses me a lot.  On top of just their presence, they had blessed me with their hospitality, inviting me over to their places, inviting me to parties, and even surprised me by celebrating my Birthday.  I had a wonderful time there, and after all, I can only be so thankful that I was living there in Bordeaux.

Not that Paris isn't amazing, but if I were there for the year, I don't think I would've enjoyed it as much as I do now.  I didn't know a lot about France at the time. I didn't know French at the time.  Living in Paris would've been quite a different experience, and it probably wouldn't have been affordable.

Anyways, anyone who would like a post-card from Paris, let me know and leave me your address!
